Recylable and/or recycled polymer needed to make injection molded beach shoes

Name:
Melissa Franklin

Hi there,

we are looking to source a recyclable (and ideally already recycled) plastic polymer for a line of injection molded 'jelly shoes' and flip flops. The material must be flexible enough to create a comfortable shoe and must also be impermeable to water. Can anyone recommend such a material? Or if not, can anyone recommend a company that might be able to develop something suitable on our behalf?

Many thanks,

Melissa Franklin

Jelly Shoes are normally made from crystal pvc compound ,try googling plastics recyclers as I dont know where you would get recycled material from.

It would be possible to make shoes like this in TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer). VTP would be interested in discussing a development with you. The shoes could incorporate both hard and soft areas and still be recyclable. For an initial discussion you could call me on 07525 128049 or email dmann@vtctpe.com

Should you get this product moving then Polymer Training Limited (PTL) offer the service of short production runs, trials, tool design etc etc.

Visit www.ptlonline.org or contact me on 01952 681828 to discuss.
