Recyclable Bottles

Name:
Peter Hawkes

I run a green drainage business and am about to import a bacteria based drain cleaning product in bulk. I want to bottle it in 1 litre containers and I want them to be as environmentally friendly as possible. What should I look for?

Many thanks

Peter

I would need to know your needs in more detail although PET blow moulded would appear to meet your needs. It is readily available, many companies manufacture these bottles and most councils have collection and recycling schemes in place for the bottles usually to drainage pipes etc. Consideration would have to be given to any residue but it should not be too much of a problem.

If you would like to know more then contact me on 01952 681828.

If this is a new venture you won't be able to afford to have you own moulds made so you should contact a "bottle stockist"
Typically the bottle you will want will be green in colour and have a high percentage of recycled material.
Stock bottles typically are bland looking.
This is so they can be used for a wide range of uses without having a recognisable brand or application.

You might see a bottle you like at the hardware shop but this will be a proprietary shape and the mould will belong to the brand owner.
Look at the name on the base e.g. Jubb, PBS, RPC there is almost no point asking these blow moulding companies for these bottles.
The design and moulds belong to Bostic, Baby Bio, Unilever etc..
Personally I think P.E. is more suitable for your application than a clear material like PET
