% of petroleum in plastics

Name:
Tian Tian

Hi,
I was wondering if you can tell me how much petroleum would go into making a unit of plastic. I assume that different types of plastic would have different % of petroleum as component. Can you please give me as much detail as possible?
Thank you!
Tian Tian

Hi Tian.

It's not the answer to what you asked for, but might be useful: about 4-6% of petroleum in the world is used in making plastics.

If you could be more specific on why you want to know it, perhaps more people can assist.

Kind regards.
