Can anyone tell me the difference between plastic ...

Name:
Hannah O'Reilly

Can anyone tell me the difference between plastic made using recycled polymers is different to PVC? Also trying to understand what is intrusion moulding?

Recycle polymer - Which polymer is it PVC or others like LDPE, HDPE, POLYPROPYLENE or others.

If PVC it would be same as PVC only with its few of the mechanical properties detoriated compared to the virgin one other wise can be re used.

INTRUSION also called INSERT moulding if I am not wrong.

It means moulding of the plastic over the insert kept i the mould before the plastic is injected and get the moulded piece example screw drivers -handle and handle, Keychains and many others.

Hope it answer yur question.

Hi,

Recycled plastics come in all the various types, not purely PVC. Dave is right if all you are talking about is recycled PVC. Essentially all plastics can be recycled one way or another - so it depends on what material you are looking at.

Intrusion (in recycling terms) is a cross between injection moulding and extrusion. Basically put molten plastic is extruded in to a could to form a shape. It is commonly used when attempting to deal with co-mingled plastics waste streams.

Should you want to know more please contact me.
