Injection Moulding and Process

Dear Sir/Madam,
We would appreciate some help and guidance from any expert around the UK for injection moulding process; we are looking to invest equipment and production facility in the UK, Birmingham to expand our business. We are aiming for the automotive connector market for the Flexible Connector industry; will you be able to help?

Glow in the dark plastic

Hi

I'm looking for a photoluminescent sheet plastic, (3mm white ABS if possible) that can be vac formed. I've found a supplier for the photoluminscent pigment that can be added to plastic during the extrusion process but am unable to find someone that already makes such a material or someone who is willing to produce a small batch of sheets with the photoluminescent additive.

can anyone help?

Thanks
Paul

washing up bowls

Just starting to research if it is possible to make washing up bowls in recycled plastic...have been reading the BPF website trying to work out which plastic washing up bowls are made from...I presume there is no limit to what colour can be added to the plastic.

Many Thanks

Information about Plastic type

Dear Madam/Sir,

We're a business start-up and we're looking to make plastic boxes to go, for example in a garden, for a long duration of time.
We want to make these boxes out of recycled plastic, but I have received conflicting information about the possibilities.

Therefore, if you could give me any information on the following points, I would be extremely grateful.

1) What plastic/polymer would you recommend to use, to make these boxes that would at least have to be UV resistant. Essentially we want them to be quite hardy and will be holding things (plants to be specific), so I'm guessing they would have a thickness of about 5-8mm? I initially thought HDPE...

2) The product that we're looking to make would ideally look quite funky and colourful, but if we wanted to do injection moulding I've been told by some moulders that with recycled plastic, you can only really get black. Is this the case?

3) If that is the case, that you can only really get black, then I suppose we'd have to go for vacuum forming, which would mean we'd have to source sheets of recycled plastic. I have been able to find many flake and pellet producers, or some really expensive sheet manufacturers, but do you know of any UK based sheet manufacturers or vacuum forming companies that could roll all of these logistics into one?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

polyproprylene beads

I have 6 inch by 18 inch by 20 feet cavities between roof tiles, wood beams and plasterboard in a sloping roof above a lounge area that I wish to insulate. I need a relatively heavy bead that can be poured into the cavities (access is in a loft over the opposite side of the house) and which will slide down to the bottom of the slope. Polyethyene is too light and sticky. Is there a polyproprylene bead available that would be suitable and if so where can it be obtained?

I need a clear tube that is food grade and can be washed in a dish washer?

Hello.

I require some plastic display and dispensing tubes. They are 5 mm thick and have a diameter of 120 mm (outside edge to outside edge). They need to transparent.

They are to be used to hold food stuffs such as rice crispies, wine gumes, marshmallows and other particle food stuffs. Therefore need to be approved or recommended for food storage.

They need to be able to withstand being washed in a dish washer.

I would be most grateful if you could recommend a material and a supplier.

Many thanks

Residual resin type spots in acrylic bath

We have recently replaced an old acrylic bath which suffered substantial residual resin type spots on it's base surface. The replacement acrylic bath has developed the same problem. The deposits at first hard and resin like seem to crystalise and damage the acrylic in pock mark fashion. We are bereft of ideas or clues as to what might be causing the problem. Have you any answers as we are desperate and the replacement bath cost us a lot of money. Many thanks in advance.
