How can I find a product supplier for HDPE Plastic Lattice.

I am trying to track down a supplier of Tuffbilt plastic lattice products by Plastics Research Corporation - I have seen it in Dobbies Gardern centers used for their outdoor displays - recently in new Aberdeen store. I have found it in 2 planning applications as supplied by Ubique Products Ltd in Powys and in a This is London item entry for www.gardendecorative.co.uk however both websites and telephone numbers no longer seem to be in use. Since Dobbies are using it it must still exist, but the question is where can you purchase it from.

This is a product I can really recommend.

Plastic food contact using embossed lettering

I have designed dinner plate with embossed lettering around the rim. The central well is 7" and the rim is 6cm. The plate is for primary schools. I have had a feedback to remove the small lettering around the central well because it is too close to the main eating section. However, the larger text is okay. Can anybody suggest an alternative method, perhaps able to keep the inner rim lettering by using an alternative method, also advice on food contact, how far from the central well does the lettering need to be? Also, many school dinner plates are melamine or polycarbonate, can somebody suggest alternative maybe polypropylene with ABS that can with stand high temperature? Thank you

Durable ecoplastic

Dear Plastbook!

I'm srudying product design, and designing a street furniture set. I need some kinds of plastics that are durable enough (agains UV radiaton, vandalism) for outdoor usage, but still eco friendly (easy and cheap to recycle). What plastics would you recommend me to use in my design.
Thanks so much:

Konstantin.

Purple staining on white PVC finished goods

We are having difficulties determining the nature of some purple staining that has defaced some stock. No solvent so far has managed to remove them. stock in question are white PVC bags and comes from China. Staining is near but not on the edge of bag near the glued zip (Adhesive also appears to be purple). Stains have not migrated through the substrate but appear on the outside only however they are not uniformly spread over the bag. Suspect that the problem lies with the glue line - If the glue contacted the outer face of the bag is it possible for it to stain immediately and still be there post wiping off?

handbag storage

Can anybody help me to find a plastics manufacturer who would be interested in making me some handbag storage units to a design which I have patented. This could lead to a large order if this takes off the way I think it will. It needs to be made out of flexible transparent plastic ideally.

recycled plastic resin

I have heard that plastic bottles or bags can be recycled into a plastic resin used to make countertops with recycled glass aggregate in the proportions 5% resin to 95% glass (or crushed stone). Is this PET and who sells it? Is it the same as Du pont's corian worktops?

Conservatory Windows

Fear Sir/Madame,

I have recently had a conservatory installed. I have the problem where the mullions between the windows bow inwards by as much as 5mm in 1 metre. I understand that uPVC window profiles need to be extruded with a maximum bend in the longitudinal direction of 1mm in 1 metre. This is defined by BS7413. However, my installer tells me that this does not apply to fabricated windows and it is acceptable for these bow by more than 1mm. They have shown me BS7412 which covers the specification for fabricated windows and the bow is not included in this document.

Please can you tell me if a bow of 5mm in 1 metre is acceptable. The company that installed the conservatory is demanding payment so an early response would be much appreciated.

Your sincerely, Simon denny
