Custom made UPVC windows

At client request, I'm looking to find a UPVC window manufacturer who can make windows to an existing custom design. General internet surfing proves that although there are plenty of companies offering a variety of designs, it's seemingly impossible to find a manufacturer offering to make windows to a customer design. Do you have any ideas as to where I could be looking to take matters further?

kind regards

I was after the carbon footprint values for manufactuing of pipes preferably of different materials ie copper, steel, plastic

I asked one of the pipe manufacturers (durapipe) for this information and they directed me to your site. I had a look but could not find any values about the carbon footprint of manufacturing and installing pipes of different materials.

Do you have any type of information like this or can you direct me to someone that can help me. Maybe a calculation method that i should use in general.

Regards

Scuffing of plastic part when overmoulded

Is there a product(spray) or finish that can be applied to an injection mould tool that will prevent the scuffing (shiny marks)of a nylon part that is being overmoulded as a second operation.

When the base nylon part is placed in the overmould tool before overmoulding there are no scuff/shiny marks, after the overmouilding cycle the base part rubs against the supporting cavity and causes marks.

We have added tape to the inside of the overmould tool to prevent the scuffing and this works well, but quickly becomes damaged and needs replacing.

Ideally we want to add some sort of soft finish to protect the base part during the overmoulding process.

The base part is glass filled nylon, colour black with a VDI 33 finish, the over moulding material is Nylon 6, colour red. There are no problems or marks with the overmoulded area.

HDPE extrusion blends

I am looking to produce high tenacity tapes from slit extruded HDPE film. The tapes will then be woven and coated with LLDPE. We require a good level of adhesion to the HDPE and have found that this can be achieved by blending a small amount of LLDPE with the HDPE at extrusion.
The problem is we have found the process to produce inconsistent results.
Can you provide any guidance please on blends which might achieve high tenacity tapes whilst affording good adhesion to LLDPE but equally importantly will result in consistent process and product parameters?
Would appreciate any help you can offer.
Thank you

Definition of polyethylene

Good Day.

I am looking into purchasing a plastic pipe extrusion line for my plant however I am having some trouble in understanding what type of polyethylene the machine manufacturers are referring to.

When a company says their machine can produce polyethylene pipes, do the mean low density polyethylene or high density polyethylene. I understand the structural difference between the two however does one get just plain polyethylene? Also is there some sort of grading system for polyethylene?

Thank you for your time.

Reinforcement of brown UPVC windows

I had my windows replaced in 2007 with UPVC sections, white on the inside and with brown facing on the outside. A typical window is 1200mm wide x 850mm deep and is split in two with both lights side hung opening. The vertical centre mullion and head of the frame is reinforced but the side jambs that fix to the brickwork are not. The jambs were fixed twice, approx 150mm down / up. The jambs have been gradually bowed outwards at the top and bottom and inwards central, to the extend of the mastic tearing inside and wind whistling past the weatherstrips. The company that installed them have assured me that the jambs rely on fixings to remain straight and want to refit the frames with additional fixings. As an industry standard, would the jambs have usually been reinforced if the outer face is brown faced, I am sure that the sun is causing this ? All of my frames are now bowed, ranging from between 2 and 4mm in their height - will their extra fixings be a satisfactory remedial ?
