HDPE sheet's Lining to E.T.P. Drain Line Chambers.

In Textile Industry,The hot effluent from DYEING plant is being sent to ETP for Recycling Treatment through HDPE Pipes and suitable brick work chambers. The effluent starts leaking through the gap of HDPE pipe and masonary. So we suggested / and done HDPE Sheet's lining to the Chambers from inside.
The Effluents's Temp. is about 90 degree celcius.and the ambient temp. also is around 45degree.So the Pipes are Expanding in Day Time and are contracting in night hours.!!!
We have done Hot Air Filler rod welding to the concerned HDPE pipes and sheets, while lining the chamber. There is about 20 mm displacement between pipes and chamber lining, and so the
welding is coming out with the movement, and so it starts leaking again.!!!
Do you suggest any remedy fopr this Problem? Is there any other method to do WELDING on HDPE SHEETS & PIPES for above problem?

Optimum plastics product for outdoor use

I would like to identify the optimum plastic product that can afford me a combination of the following properties at an acheivable price:
Transparency/Clear - "see through"
Weather resistant (rain/wind/sun) also UV Sun resistant (non degrading/yellowing after 12months+)
Rigid with an element of flexibility.

I am seeking to use some form of sheeting for use in patios. The (construction)site is prone to wind and I'd like to find a suitable product to install for outdoor use (appartment patios 2/3 storeys.) However the material must be clear and maleable for fixing onto existing iron balcony railings.

Is there an exisitng product/manufacturer who can offer advice.
Many Thanks

Plastic quality

I am embarking on a self build project and wish to install uPVC windows. Having read all the available material it would appear that there are different types of uPVC with some being better than others. What uPVC specification should I be looking for when choosing a window manufacturer.

Environmental impact of ABS plastic pipework during its manufacture

I am aware that there is a huge debate at the moment on the sustainability and environmental impact of plastics, in general, and their continuious usage.
Whilst it is accepted that all pipework has a negative impact, plastic is deemed by some to be more negative than say steel or copper.
However, my question relates to plastic in general, namely which plastic is the least damaging during manufacture, in particular between ABS, PVC (PVC-u & MUPVC) and polypropylene pipework?

Traceability of raw materials

Dear Sir/Madam,

I work for BRE Global who have recently released the BES 6001 Framework Standard for the Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products - a certification scheme aimed at assessing and certifying responsibly sourced building products. We have a number of clients who would like to apply for certification but feel they would not be able to comply with the requirement for 'traceability of constituent materials to the source of the raw material' because they use plastics and petrochemicals which are derived from oil or gas and there is no way of knowing where they ultimately originated. We are currently reviewing the standard with a view to clarifying the requirements for traceability of plastics and wondered if you could verify what barriers exist to traceability of materials derived from oil? For example, how far back would it be possible to trace the constituent materials of plastic products?

If you require any further information/clarification, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Glow Sheet Plastic

I am looking for sheet glow plastic that I can cut 8.5" circles with a 3" hole in the center. These will be used to fit over a hose port on a fire engine to identify hose lines for the rescue teams. It would be desirable to have them already formed and lettered with a large "RIC" in two places and a split from the center to the outside so that they can be twisted and fitted over the hose.
Thanks, Larry

Material Choice

Can you please tell me if ABS can be used for a component part of a heating unit that is expected to reach a temperature of around 80 degrees C long term, the component has to glide on a piece of powder coated Aluminium as this expands and contracts and must do this without making any sounds, will this material remain stable at these temperatures, and is there a better choice of material for this application? Could the BPF offer any assistance with my task of eliminating expansion related sounds in a heating system?
Many thanks
