A degree in Philosophy and Politics from Warwick University somehow qualified me for a lifetimes work in the Plastics Recycling Industry.
Firstly for 20 years as a Director in the family business, Chases Plastics Limited, specialising in the manufacture of recycled Polythene Film Compounds.
Secondly as Commercial Manager sales and purchasing for Waste Exchange Services Limited (now Greenstar WES)a Company then specialising in the recycling of polypropylene flexible scrap to compound.

I am experiencing vibration problems at an extrusion cooling plant. The engineers are trying to reduce/eliminate the issue by adding 'soap' bars to the cooling water (thereby lubricating the product?).I have also experienced at profile plants elsewhere that paraffin is used to reduce vibration issues. Is vibration a common phenomenon in these industries? What are the principal causes? What are the other remedial actions (other than soap/paraffin?).
